Day 26 with Effy
Here's a picture of the ArtFoamie and a brush, that one of my friends calls her Zen brush. That I used to do a lot of the water coloring.
To make the background I made lots of Puddles of water and then put my brush into the paint and then put them into the puddles and swirl them around.
When I looked at it after I had stamped I saw the lady's face as though she was looking sideways and I decided that I would give her hair but leave her kind of ethereal looking by not giving her any features. I gave her a glow all about the rest of her and then an arm to hold rings to match the rings around her head. I saw these kind of rings around a ladies head in a magazine but can't remember which one.
Let me know what you think.
That's all for today everybody have a good week.
My friend Riley told me:
Turn your mistakes
into big perfection.
By the way Riley is 7.

Day 25 with Effy
Sorry about yesterday. I just did not have anything in me to make an excerpt.
I am still trying to get the layout set up the way I want and this so aggravating to me. I hate being an illiterate computer person. I waste so much of my time trying to find and figure things out.
Well today I had a magnificent day.
Kae Pea from ArtFoamies, RubberMoon and the Moon and the Maker had a Zoom class. It was sooo fantastic I am not sure I can express how great it was.
First I have to say I am in no way connected to Kae Pea and her businesses meaning I do not work for them. I only express how I feel about them and their products because I really believe in them.
Art has a lot to share.
Til tomorrow.

Day 24 with Effy
When Death Comes
When death comes
like the hungry bear in autumn;
when death comes and takes all the bright coins from his purse
to buy me, and snaps the purse shut;
when death comes
like the measle-pox
when death comes
like an iceberg between the shoulder blades,
I want to step through the door full of curiosity, wondering:
what is it going to be like, that cottage of darkness?
And therefore I look upon everything
as a brotherhood and a sisterhood,
and I look upon time as no more than an idea,
and I consider eternity as another possibility,
and I think of each life as a flower, as common
as a field daisy, and as singular,
and each name a comfortable music in the mouth,
tending, as all music does, toward silence,
and each body a lion of courage, and something
precious to the earth.
When it's over, I want to say all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.
When it's over, I don't want to wonder
if I have made of my life something particular, and real.
I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened,
or full of argument.
I don't want to end up simply having visited this world.
Til tomorrow.
Day 23 with Effy
So I guess I owe all of you an extra great excerpt today.
It was easy to do something special.
I spent a day doing GelliPlate papers and some other fun papers using some of Seth Apter's products
I inherited lot of stuff from my grandmother-in-law. Which is ironic because she is the one who started me into stamping. And I think stamping, for a lot of us, was the basis of where we began into the art world. I still stamp a lot and use it in a lot of my projects. Obviously I went from there (stamping) on to a lot of other things. Mixed media jumped out at me next. So for a lot of these projects I need fun papers. Actually that was not where I was headed when I started this paragraph.
My GIL gave me all her stuff when she could no longer use it. She had tons of paper and a lot of the paper was pre-printed. Most of which I would never use so this is what I do most of my Gelli papers on. I use mostly the backs but some times the fronts.
Not all Gelli papers come out good, some are really really terrible but even those can sometimes be salvaged by tearing up or working on top of.
So here are a few of my Gelli papers and tomorrow I will show you and explain how I made the ones I made withe Seth's products.
So how many of you have tried your hand at Gelli Printing?
Do you like it. I really like making papers, you can use up old paint, paper you don't like and it kind of gets your mind off all of your troubles. Someone once told me that if your Muse has disappeared make paper it'll help her find her way home.
Simple things keep me holding on.
Til tomorrow.

Day 21 with Effy
My friend Heidi made me a small art case of various things: acrylic paints, scissors, some different nice markers that are black with different size tips, ephemera items and a nice small black ink pad and a few other things. I added a few paint brushes she said this was supposed to be for my Small Studio. This would be upstairs so that if I didn't feel like going down the the Fish Bowl, or I had a day I didnt wear my prothesis and I felt like getting Makey (doing art) I would have a few things upstairs. I also bought another small case to add a few extra things because I never have enough ephemera or markers or watercolor stuff.
I'm starting to work on that card from the other day
I told you that it was going to show up in some in some of my work.
So I start a little collage with it and I'll show you what I've got so far. This doesn't mean it's how it's going to stay but we'll see.
So take a look and let me know what you think and I'll work from there.
That's all I've got for today.

Day 20 with Effy
Today is going to be brief.
Nothing seemed to go my way today.
I got sidetracked every which way it could be. I DID get to the post and sent my envies out.
Here's a picture of my envelope my swap went in.
We also had to include a SASE.
Sorry a really crappyπ© photo. See the flap? It says RESTART MAIL ART.
If you noticed the little piece of paper on the mermaid envy this is what is says:
I try to remember to put these in every swap. I am not sure if anyone is helping it move on but I hope so.
That's all I have for today.
EVERYTHING IS GOING TO WORK OUT
Til tomorrow.

Day 19 with Effy
Hello and happy Sunday!
It is lovely at my house, nice and sunny beautiful blue sky with a few puffy clouds and every so often a nice little breeze. It's spectacular!!
I'm sitting in my great room at the table working. Looking out over my yard and my pumpkins patch, that I hope to sell pumpkins during next month.
At the pond there were geese this morning and they're gone thank goodness! Because they were up squawking all night. Not sure why, something was disturbing them.

Day 18 with Effy
Originally I had something else I was going to do, then I read this and I got permission to share it.
I was very compelled to share this message.

Day 17 with Effy
So far 3 followers, where are all of the rest you? I get comments that you like my blog so please join the band wagon.
It appears I have something wrong to in the follow button area. It looks like you need to go to the blogsite and sign up there. It doesn't seem to show up when I post. I'll try and figure this out and I remember bring a friend!!π«π¬π
Well anyway I was trying to figure out what I was going to do for the blog today and I thought I would show all about Poppets. Then my friend called and asked me if I wanted to go to this really great Paper Store in Cleveland. Of course I said yes because wow like I need more paper. NOT!! This is a great store, they have paper by the pound and they have envelopes in huge batches and large sheets of paper and handmade paper in large sheet. All at great prices.
I really needed some envelopes because I used what was left of my A2's for the envie swap.
So I said "Yeah sure it'll be fun and I can get what I need".
I'm back. Ouch I should have stayed home.
Well I did get envies and cards to go with them. And large sheets of paper for water colouring and 8x11 sheets of paper for water coloring. And I found these really nice cards with a building on it. I'll show you its too hard to describe.
Then on the way out I 'swam' π‘ by the paper rack with Graphics 45 and Stamperia papers and ugh, some of them are so beautiful.
Darnit couldn't stay away. I was picking through the big sheets and checking the back side to make sure the back was really cool and then...
I saw that 8 by 8 packs (which is the size I prefer) Oh Dear, SUCKER! they dragged me in kicking and π± screamin', and by the time I picked out those and put the 12 by 12 back (except for a few that they didn't have in the eight by eight) I was done in, over the top, blew my budget.
Now I'm home and I'm happy with what I bought and also I found a couple of odd ball items to go with my paper and envies.
I'm happy but I'm poorer but I guess that's how it goes in our business, right, artists are always poor.
Isn't this beautiful?
Watch for future projects that I use these cards.
Til tomorrow.

Day 16 with Effy
I have to acknowledge that it is Donna Downey's Birthday π week.ππ
She has something new going on everyday. Check her out on PATREON. She is really getting into mark making so she has some new stencils. Tomorrow she is releasing some new Art Foamie stamps. If you want to see this reveal catch Kae Pea ( also on PATREON) on the Art Foamie Facebook page for Art Foamie Fun Friday at 5:00 p.m. central time
Well I had my post all ready to go I was just deleting one small thing and WHOOSH, the whole thing was gone.π€
I thought I had gotten past all that WHOOSH all gone.π€ Obviously I still haven't figured out this blog thing.
If any of you out there use blogger.com can you get in contact with me. I need some help. Obviously! I have a few things that I haven't quite figured out and I would really like some help. Thank youπ!
So instead here is another profoundπ€ statement from my file of profoundπ€ statements.
Many of us live life on a thin threadπͺ‘ in a bubble every day. Don’t shortchange yourself, live each day to the fullest!
Life is fragile and eventually all of our bubbles burst. But while we can smile π and touch π€ and taste π and smellπand listenπ...
Be that bubble that reaches for the heavens π and shines the brightest π and makes people smile π.

Day 15 with Effy
OH! I'm so excited!!!
I noticed that I have two followers. YEAH for me.
Come one, Come all and follow the antics of ME
PUFF
Coming to you from The Fish Bowl.
So I was in a group and we were altering hands. Like a mannequin hand or a hand used for a jewelry display.
My friend Wendy saw one on Pinterest or Etsy or some such place and decided she wanted to do this as a swap.
So she gathered a handful of us together and drew names and off we went.
There were no rules. The hand could be black, white, gold, whatever you could find. Left or right, long armed or short.
I decided I was going to paint flowers and then add some flower charms. But I was at the store and I saw some transparent butterflies so I thought I'd add the butterfly somehow on one of the fingers.
Then I came across these tiny tiny little lights and they were so awesome I decided I was going to put these underneath the charms so that it would make the charms reflect the light and it would look like the hand lit up all over.
It sounded good. now all I had to do was implement it.
I had everything gathered up and I tried to figure out how the lights would work. Well it had a little plastic piece that held the batteries, the battery pack. Where you turned it on and off. This was cool because you can replace them so the string of lights would work for a long time.
Road block 1, the battery pack didn't have a place to hide. So my husband, DOC, kindly and wonderfully cut out a little piece so that it would fit up underneath the hand but with the switch out to the front so you could turn it on and off, this works beautifully. And the battery pack was taped to the bottom so when the batteries died they could easily be replace.
Okay next I decided that I really didn't want to paint flowers on because my hand is not all that steady when I need it to be. Road block 2, I decided to scrounge through all my stuff and find all the 3-dimensional flowers that I could find. Believe me I have plenty. I have brads and I have eyelets and I have charms. Between the three of those I think I could come up with a good amount.
I also decided on the thumb I was going to put the butterfly. I had a really cool piece of brass that I was going to use for something else but when I bent it and put two little antenna on it it looked really nice. A lot better than the mylar one I had intended of using.
I think I had gathered up everything else I needed so I sat down and I decide to wind the lights around the way I want them to go and I want one to end up underneath the butterfly so I put them down and I just bent them enough to see where the flowers should go. I had a good idea but I made a few slight markings and then I took the lights off and start gluing down my flowers and I keep going and going and going because I just feel like I want more flowers here and more flowers there.
So now I wound the lights around to where I think I wanted them to go and I tacked them down underneath the flowers, especially those that are transparent. They light up and WOW. I think it looks lovely. I sprayed it with some lacquer and it's done.
Here we go I'll show you the final project.
Let me know what you think?!?
Tomorrow after I've gotten permission from the others in the group, I'll post their pictures also. They were all amazing. It definitely was one of the best swaps I've ever been in.
I just realized π² as I proofed this that I put some sentences in the present and some in the past. π€ Oh well it's late and I don't feel like fixing my grammar. I hope none of you are English majors π¨ππ©π or teachers or professors π©π½π«π¨πΌπ«. Forgive me this π
Til tomorrow.

Day 14 with Effy
Today I woke up at 7:15 a.m. way to early for me so back to sleep I went. Anyone will tell you I am not a morning person.
Well I woke at 9:20 a.m. and went out to the great room, grabbed my phone and my " I've fallen and I can't get up" monitor, sat down and started reading stuff on my phone.
Two hours later I came out from the phone and set about doing things. I'd start one thing and then got pulled into something artsy, so off I go to do a project, then I was hungry so I head to the fridge to get something to eat.
On my way to the fridge I see a note that I need to go down stairs and recharge the water softener. SO down the steps I go, and of course down there's the Fish Bowl so I get distracted by the Fish Bowl.
Because I am trying to organize the Fish Bowl a little bit at a time I see as few things I could do right now.
Then my phone rings, of course my phone is upstairs. If it's important they will leave a message so then I do a little bit more organizing and head upstairs.
When I get all the way upstairs I realized I never did push the button for recharging the water softener, down the stairs I go again and go right over to the water softener and hit the recharge button. Yeah done. I was supposed to do it on the 10th, Oops.
Then the phone rings again and I am downstairs and the phone is upstairs, what a dope I forgot it again. Somebody could really be trying to get a hold of me it may not be the same person that called before, but I should check. Upstairs I go, I listen to the message and it's important so they want me to call them back. That leads to a string of calls..
Going up and down the stairs is really hard for me. If you didn't know it I am an amputee and prosthetics don't bend and work as easily as the amputated part. Someday I'll share my story. But it is my lower right leg.
I realize that I'm really hungry I check the time 4:55p.m. OH NO it's time for Daily HeART with Kae Pea. So online I go for that.
After Kae Pea, I realized I haven't done my blog today, shoot I better get it done. So here I am talking to you.
Where did the time go and now I know why I'm up so late every night trying to finish the few little things on my list that day. This happens everyday and each days list grows longer and longer because I didn't get anything done the day before.
With all this babble and resignation I realize i get distracted easily.
With that I leave you with this.
"You might have to look hard,
but it's definitely there.
Stay strong and hopeful.
Everything will be OK in the end
If it's not OK, it's not the end!"

DAy 13 with Effy
I am in an envelope swap and I'm very excited about this because I am all about restarting mail art.
I used to do a lot of mail art. Actually I still do, none of my envelopes are ever naked even my bills.
I take mine to the post office and the ladies stop and want to look at them and now they've told me don't seal them up cuz they want to see what's inside. I find that to be really funny, but what the heck, I'm not sure how the people on the other end of the bills that I mail feel about it but I haven't heard anything back.
We have 23 people in this swaps, We're all making 23 envelopes but we're leaving a space so we can use them. A space in the center where you can put the address and then another space up in the corner where you can put the return address. where you can put a return address.
The other day my friend Wendy sent me a little package and inside she had an envelope that she had decorated, she didn't leave any of it blank. If I wanted to mail it I'd have to put a sticker over the middle for the address and a sticker in the corner where you could write the return address. It is a beautiful and fun envelope, I may not mail it I might just keep it for myself.
This is Wendy's envy.
She is an extremely and fantastic artist with amazing talent. You may see a few more of her thing in the future.
Here are a few of my envelopes for the swap. I lined the envies to make them able to take painting with the water colors so that they wouldn't bleed through.
Either they are drawn free hand or I used ART FOAMIES.
https://artfoamies.com/collections
Bird abd branch are ART Foamies the small set. I added a few berry's and branches.
Front and back with lining and
RESTART MAIL ART! on the flap.
Fun ART Foamie.
By hand for her and her flowers are Art Foamies.
Til tomorrow.

Day 12 with Effy
I took my wheelchair along so when I got tired I'd have a seat. When I got it out of the car my friend and I couldn't open it up. Somehow part of it got bent, oh well so much for that idea. ( I could have used it to carry my bags).
The only thing I didn't get that I really wanted was an old typewriter. It worked and the ribbon was good.. I have one but this one was older.I shouldn't have walked away because it was a good deal. Oh well next time.
I got glass bottles for my window sills. Items for assemblage. I bought for my friend a dish for her paint brushes, it was $0.25.
Big spender friend am I. I did buy her another dish for paint brushes and I also bought her lunch.
I got a really old Lionel train catalogue and two small old books. The books both need their bindings repaired and then I will either alter them or use them for small junk journals for flotsam and jetsam items. ( I call my stuff that because it sticks to the sea theme, I am a PUFFer Fish you know).
Bye the way if you haven't caught on The Fish Bowl is my studio. It is our walkout basement. It has lots and lots of window like a fish bowl. I have what will soon be a full kitchen, The Galley. A full bathroom, The Lagoon. One side my main work area, The 61 Reef. The other side is The Fat Tree Reef. And the large area that is where I have most of my stuff, soon to be organized completely π€£π€£ is The Atoll.
Someday when I have it all organized I'll take a few pix and show it off.
Well that's all for today except a few shots of some of my loot I got.
This wasn't even all of it.

I know I missed a few days. Got caught up in a few other things.
As usual I wanted to add something to this blog but couldn't figure it out. I wanted background sounds of a babbling brook. Anyone know how to do this?
