I see no one has commented.</b></span></p><p>I ran across an exercise in Collaging that was in the book <b><u>THE TRICKSTERS HAT</u></b> by <i><b>Nick Bantock</b></i>.</p><p>If you've never read any of Nick's books they are wonderful, interactive, brain and intriguing books. You should check them out. Maybe after I finish what I have in mind today and what follows I'll do something with his books. He also designed some fun and quirky rubber stamps. I am not sure if you can still find them but it would be worth the search.</p><p><br /></p><p><b>GUIDED COLLAGE</b></p><p>Just in case you have a thumbs twittling day ahead of you, may I be so bold as to suggest you have a go at this exercise from The Tricksters Hat. You don't have to be a practiced artist to get started, its designed for everyone regardless of age or skill level.</p><p>First and foremost before we begin you need a friend to participate in this with you. A neighboring artist somebody you see often or if you want to do it through the mail you can but it will take longer, its up to you. I'm going to do this with my friend Sheila we spend at least one sometimes two days a week having Makey days.</p><p><u>MATERIALS NEEDED</u></p><p>-White board anywhere between 12x10" or 13x16"</p><p>-acrylic paints (make sure you have a blue)</p><p>-matte medium </p><p>-chalk pastels</p><p>-Supply of varied old magazines for ripping and tearing </p><p>-black and white gesso or paint</p><p>-a largish brush</p><p>-colored pencils or crayons </p><p>-tissue paper and other ephemera for collaging (this is a 2D project by the way)</p><p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><p>Okay here we go, <b>Phase</b> 1</p><p>-Select any tube of paint using a thin mix solution of that color, quickly cover half of your board with the largish brush (keep in mind that there are many different ways to cover a half).</p><p>- Take a colored pencil or crayon and scribble rapidly on the remaining white half of the board.</p><p>-Add a red triangle πΊοΈ. </p><p>-Add a number ( hand drawn or from a torn piece of magazine or newspaper.</p><p>- Add another bigger number, this time making it touch up against the edge of your board.</p><p>- Pick a chalk pastel, draw into half of the remaining white area and rub it in with your fingers.</p><p>- Tear out a figure from a magazine could be human or animal and adhere it to your board.</p><p>-Select another tube of paint. Mix that color with a little black and a little white. Use this mix color to paint out the remaining area of white on your board.</p></div><p><br /></p><p>Don't get too precise about any of these instructions we are really just building the ground in order to create some layers.</p><p><br /></p><p>- Squeeze a small amount of blue paint on to the heel of your hand, then without thinking about placement bang it down onto your picture three times.</p><p>- Tear a piece of tissue and paste it down onto your piece with matte medium, then paint back over the top of the tissue with more matte medium. (When it dries not only will it be well stuck, it will be sealed in so that you will be able to continue to work over the top of it.)</p><p>- Quickly scan your ephemera and magazines looking for a map or a diagram tear a corner section out and put it in one of the corners of your picture or board whichever you're calling it.</p><p>- Go back to your magazines and ephemera and look for something "unexpected" put it in the opposite corner to the map/diagram.</p><p><br /></p><p>But now the picture may be a messy. MESSY IS O.K. We are just developing the necessary layers.</p><p><br /></p><p>- Find a largish letter (alphabet not mail) cut it in half, and add it to your picture so that the two cut sections are butted up against different edges.</p><p>- STOP! Look at what you've done so far. Push any judgment from your mind. Just absorb what's there without taking critical responsibility. Wait until you see an area that you'd like to add to or change. Ignore the little voice that says "All of it!" </p><p>-Simply decide on the one part that needs something different. Then paint or collage as you wish.</p><p><br /></p><p>You have now reached <b>Phase 2.</b></p><p>And that is for another day.</p><p>You and your partner should be at the same Phase.</p><p><br /></p><p><b style="font-family: arial; font-size: x-large;">OVERTHINKING IS THE </b></p><p><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><b> DEATH OF CREATIVITY.</b></span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;"><b> <i> Seth Apter</i></b></span></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><p>Til the next time... </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">CIAO,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">PUFF ππ</div></div>PUFFhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14542237591493658477noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-84200951492136.post-21722902734561017852021-10-08T18:11:00.002-04:002021-10-08T18:11:29.976-04:00Van Gogh and more<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="220" data-original-width="326" height="135" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/w200-h135/image.png" width="200" /></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I knew that after my obligation to Effie was over I wouldn't keep up on my I have to thank Effy for pushing me into doing it for at least a month thank you so much and I hope you has a really great birthday month!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLLA0ch37eGzHUO1wS0cMX0YPLYFta9bkUfhoF3w35MLOu8obcZskhHT6tcMUKXncf6zNiEYxnubQb08Dqw1DfFqWlEnOlFh526UWGs2mTtq0uHonVLlcG5VE9eqHN7X498rzPds3NkQ/s2048/20211006_214701.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1506" data-original-width="2048" height="147" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLLA0ch37eGzHUO1wS0cMX0YPLYFta9bkUfhoF3w35MLOu8obcZskhHT6tcMUKXncf6zNiEYxnubQb08Dqw1DfFqWlEnOlFh526UWGs2mTtq0uHonVLlcG5VE9eqHN7X498rzPds3NkQ/w200-h147/20211006_214701.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I watercoloured this card for my Mother-in-Law for no reason except that I had Van Gogh on the brain.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyRgXeA1XnQh8iGg5-xZ3mKBlE_jcMjpE8KcoHn77qzDmNyAUWR5lLN1Xir7MGbbWQgAbq0wT5txGGco5MSTmYsheEbYAGseR2erZ-OuKMTjd9BiK2JT6i1yCqG_Qw3OXXahs92LWLLg/s2048/20211001_114038.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyRgXeA1XnQh8iGg5-xZ3mKBlE_jcMjpE8KcoHn77qzDmNyAUWR5lLN1Xir7MGbbWQgAbq0wT5txGGco5MSTmYsheEbYAGseR2erZ-OuKMTjd9BiK2JT6i1yCqG_Qw3OXXahs92LWLLg/s320/20211001_114038.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> I went to the Vincent van Gogh Immersive Exhibit. It was one of the best art shows I've ever been to. I know it was extremely different from anything else put out but I love Van Gogh. Putting his paintings to music and moving them around all over the walls and floor and mirrors. It was amazing!!! I thought you'd only get an hour in the exhibition hall that was the way it was set up when you bought the tickets. But when you went inside they told us we could stay as long as we want and since I brought my wheelchair with me so I have comfortable place to sit, warning from another friend of mine, and I did take it cuz I need it I sat and watched and watched at least three Cycles I tried to film but different people were walking and milling around all over the place. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> I got a lot of them and just when I thought I was going to stop one came up with one of my favorite French songs so I had to keep filming I know I overfilmed but when I got home I moved them over to my computer and now I'll be able them the way I like. They obviously had an overpriced gift shop On the way out they had this cool gigantic paintbox with huge tubes of paint in them that you could if you stand in front of or lean against and get your picture taken try. I tried to take a selfish but mine never turn out well, my arms are too short. The best thing was a fake giant bucket of spilled paint tipped over with a big paint brush, you could crawl inside there and stand on the paintbrush and get your picture taken since ,I went to the exhibit myself I didn't have anyone to take my pic and I really hated to ask a stranger because it would take me so long to craw inside there so I took a picture of the bucket but who knows maybe I'll be able to paste myself over it doing that LOL, funny to think me, Miss Technology trying to figure out how to do that.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> Then there were some videos on the wall all the different things the colors he used the women who or his Muses and the different places that he painted it was an amazing amazing show.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Even though it was an expensive show I'm thinking I might go back and see it again. I just loved it and of course I bought something from the gift shop so I got a few post cards of my fav paintings and then I splurged on a baseball cap of Starry Night.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNNe3QvHEGdl5cuCz1thi0cnkpwagRjJTM7wb5gYAlL6HFQN0h_3fpIhPcVj2MwIpZ55mDSRKIHpWvdzdA7LBUqMuJEGlHtIVW83T_MI-Nyrme9pAooG455Sfin-I2TeeoqT9_RrIibA/s2048/20211001_133342.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNNe3QvHEGdl5cuCz1thi0cnkpwagRjJTM7wb5gYAlL6HFQN0h_3fpIhPcVj2MwIpZ55mDSRKIHpWvdzdA7LBUqMuJEGlHtIVW83T_MI-Nyrme9pAooG455Sfin-I2TeeoqT9_RrIibA/w150-h200/20211001_133342.jpg" width="150" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><i><br /></i></b></div><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: medium;"><b>DON'T WAIT FOR OPPORTUNITY, </b></span><div><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: medium;"><b> CREATE IT<br /></b></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p>Til tomorrow, </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">CIAO,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">PUFF ππ</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div> <p></p></div>PUFFhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14542237591493658477noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-84200951492136.post-51722481622303055832021-09-30T20:48:00.001-04:002021-09-30T20:48:23.485-04:00Day 29 with Effy posted on 30th<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="220" data-original-width="326" height="135" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/w200-h135/image.png" width="200" /></a></div></div><p>So I tried to type stuff tonight but I'm so tired π« I keep messing up and typing random stuff so I give up. I just did not have anything in me to make an excerpt.</p><p>I am still trying to get the layout set up the way I want and this so aggravating to me. I hate being an illiterate computer person. I waste so much of my time trying to find and figure things out.</p><p><br /></p><p>Well today I had a magnificent day.</p><p>Kae Pea from <i><u>ArtFoamies</u>, <u>RubberMoon</u> </i>and the<u> </u><i><u>Moon and the Maker </u>had a Zoom class.</i> It was sooo fantastic I am not sure I can express how great it was. </p><p>First I have to say I am in no way connected to Kae Pea and her businesses meaning I do not work for them. I only express how I feel about them and their products because I really believe in them.</p><div style="text-align: left;">Today's Zoom class way called: <b><i>Faces and Figures with <u>ArtFoamies</u></i></b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b><i><br /></i></b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>Here is the description: </b> In this class we will explore faces and figures using <i><u>ArtFoamies</u></i> and mixed media art materials, to create imagery that is imaginative and intuitive. We will create a painting on a panel and multiple pieces of paper.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Most of the materials are things that most of us have in our studios. The only things needed that you might have to buy would be specific <i><u>ArtFoamies</u></i>. Even if you had some of the other Faces and Figure <u><i>Foamies</i></u> you could adapt with these and not have to purchase anything else. ( I myself didn't have all of the <i><u>Foamies</u></i> on the list but will be buying them because of all of the versatility they can do).</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Kae Pea covered each <i><u>Foamie</u></i> and then did a project with it and the people participating asked questions and most played along. Then people showed off their work and took constructive criticism from the rest of us. We did this with each <i><u>Foamie</u></i> sometimes in multiple ways. Everyone participated either in showing their work or asking questions or telling each other about their work or about our own work.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Water colours and acrylic paints, gouauche, and gesso were the main items used to create the artwork. Even if you are or aren't an artist that is familiar with these items you can still participate in the class because the explanation and demos were easy to follow along.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">We all decided at the end that it was a fantastic learning experience and that <b>we all loved helping each other out and giving each other ideas.</b></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">I did not work along because my main table in The Fish Bowl (actually all my tables five in all) are all covered in stuff and I did not get it cleaned off in time to work along. I am going to work on cleaning my table off and gathering what I need after I post this so that I can create (and Get Makey as Kae Pea says) tomorrow and then I will share with you and with the people from the Zoom group.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Please go to<u> <i>The Moon and the Maker</i> </u>or <i><u>ArtFoamies</u></i> and check out this class and if you can, sign up. It is well worth the money and you will also be able to use a lot of the tips in other art projects you are doing or contemplating doing. Kae Pea is a very knowledgeable and is always willing to help anyone.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><p><span style="font-family: Fredoka One;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Fredoka One; font-size: x-large;">Art has a lot to share.</span></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p> Til tomorrow.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">CIAO,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>PUFF</b> ππ</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div></div>PUFFhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14542237591493658477noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-84200951492136.post-81701231828728593962021-09-24T22:34:00.000-04:002021-09-24T22:34:48.788-04:00Day 24 with Effy<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV59E_5YgaOLUSUw42fuIh1mvagXpR7vf3ttI0CwzvrASVyOfcvi95uE80sqkklAHYAgC4dpD-EgbI4LzsIwjEqisCUaslIdCU_UyMFsbex6qYKSgm-lp6cEH85VUaSL2OmG08t0ulsw/s1778/20210415_155652.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1407" data-original-width="1778" height="158" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV59E_5YgaOLUSUw42fuIh1mvagXpR7vf3ttI0CwzvrASVyOfcvi95uE80sqkklAHYAgC4dpD-EgbI4LzsIwjEqisCUaslIdCU_UyMFsbex6qYKSgm-lp6cEH85VUaSL2OmG08t0ulsw/w200-h158/20210415_155652.jpg" title="PUFFer GoFISH" width="200" /></a></div><br /><h1 style="text-align: left;"><br />

My husband returned from a 23 day trip and I wanted to get all my weekly chores done before he got home and I did. I was exhausted and I fell asleep and next thing I knew he was kissing me Hello. I was so happy to see him the day got away from me, we had so much catching up to do. I never heard my reminder alarm.</span></div><p>So I guess I owe all of you an extra great excerpt today.</p><p style="text-align: left;">It was easy to do something special.</p><p style="text-align: left;">I spent a day doing GelliPlate papers and some other fun papers using some of Seth Apter's products</p><p style="text-align: left;">I inherited lot of stuff from my grandmother-in-law. Which is ironic because she is the one who started me into stamping. And I think stamping, for a lot of us, was the basis of where we began into the art world. I still stamp a lot and use it in a lot of my projects. Obviously I went from there (stamping) on to a lot of other things. Mixed media jumped out at me next. So for a lot of these projects I need fun papers. Actually that was not where I was headed when I started this paragraph.</p><p style="text-align: left;">My GIL gave me all her stuff when she could no longer use it. She had tons of paper and a lot of the paper was pre-printed. Most of which I would never use so this is what I do most of my Gelli papers on. I use mostly the backs but some times the fronts.</p><p style="text-align: left;">Not all Gelli papers come out good, some are really really terrible but even those can sometimes be salvaged by tearing up or working on top of.</p><p style="text-align: left;">So here are a few of my Gelli papers and tomorrow I will show you and explain how I made the ones I made withe Seth's products.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguglVE1VaIUot2-EXsBjMoXaaDMMA-piFmxjAFqja3UBFI6KumWotxpYMfbs7Gh5Cbql_9vojPl3ra0mmYCN73A6GFO2ppRk6t1eqEHcJF6LJCGj3JDGu4GWX7axmALco6Kk9xyj5vcg/s2048/16324546825527387077207803692055.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguglVE1VaIUot2-EXsBjMoXaaDMMA-piFmxjAFqja3UBFI6KumWotxpYMfbs7Gh5Cbql_9vojPl3ra0mmYCN73A6GFO2ppRk6t1eqEHcJF6LJCGj3JDGu4GWX7axmALco6Kk9xyj5vcg/w150-h200/16324546825527387077207803692055.jpg" width="150" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p style="text-align: left;"><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdavpMw4frMps014DCEuvh2MZKQfIxlboKbMs9mkXyOoRfa-SEGmYbRUiSlx5SQDgqABlOOvPCVRcchyyZJJy8YEQK1iW0xz6LXDElYyClnDdSYFFwC5P-zRQAXF78mpS2AJJ_B00Tpw/s2048/16324558746642143203050373396289.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdavpMw4frMps014DCEuvh2MZKQfIxlboKbMs9mkXyOoRfa-SEGmYbRUiSlx5SQDgqABlOOvPCVRcchyyZJJy8YEQK1iW0xz6LXDElYyClnDdSYFFwC5P-zRQAXF78mpS2AJJ_B00Tpw/w150-h200/16324558746642143203050373396289.jpg" width="150" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRW-zv7wuAT9uEBaDyOxNY2BLgsmowSIvXLc5REvMOmHMoffRZLioJ-G234as89ZVCCrPJF8qHXzMN7wQI8tBEifnqnQaQEEsQy8oE37YcL1sxTDqlqMU0uqSxVupk_anI1U_QEnhxxA/s2048/16324560690906547109972621478574.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRW-zv7wuAT9uEBaDyOxNY2BLgsmowSIvXLc5REvMOmHMoffRZLioJ-G234as89ZVCCrPJF8qHXzMN7wQI8tBEifnqnQaQEEsQy8oE37YcL1sxTDqlqMU0uqSxVupk_anI1U_QEnhxxA/w150-h200/16324560690906547109972621478574.jpg" width="150" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;">See not all are lovely but I think I'll be able to make then work?</span></div><p>So how many of you have tried your hand at Gelli Printing?</p><p>Do you like it. I added a few paint brushes she said this was supposed to be for my Small Studio. This would be upstairs so that if I didn't feel like going down the the Fish Bowl, or I had a day I didnt wear my prothesis and I felt like getting Makey (doing art) I would have a few things upstairs. I also bought another small case to add a few extra things because I never have enough ephemera or markers or watercolor stuff.</p><p> I'm starting to work on that card from the other day </p><p> I told you that it was going to show up in some in some of my work.</p><p>So I start a little collage with it and I'll show you what I've got so far. This doesn't mean it's how it's going to stay but we'll see. </p><p>So take a look and let me know what you think and I'll work from there.</p><p>That's all I've got for today.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDDvCUYgu3D_44AZgLgJgtSPLlc8lPwlSEWHJke85v7Tl42DQe90KXHnSg1YQRclQR7MvVlwyX2VW8iXSLhD7qGu1TW6FKwb40B-GxiEyylklO2sHuSJvqz9V3J4kznbn6UL5ucXkBTA/s4608/20210921_165715.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4608" data-original-width="3456" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDDvCUYgu3D_44AZgLgJgtSPLlc8lPwlSEWHJke85v7Tl42DQe90KXHnSg1YQRclQR7MvVlwyX2VW8iXSLhD7qGu1TW6FKwb40B-GxiEyylklO2sHuSJvqz9V3J4kznbn6UL5ucXkBTA/s320/20210921_165715.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia;">"Do not judge anything you have made, Your hands have <i><b>immense power</b></i>, you just have to train them; once you start, you will see progress if you stay with it. <i><b>This is not a race.. this is your life."</b></i></span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia;"> <u>Verena Fay</u></span></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Til tomorrow.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">CIAO,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">PUFF ππ</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="220" data-original-width="326" height="135" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/w200-h135/image.png" width="200" /></a></div></div>PUFFhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14542237591493658477noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-84200951492136.post-38592723037825056802021-09-20T20:52:00.001-04:002021-09-20T20:53:14.512-04:00Day 20 with Effy<p>Today is going to be brief.</p><p>Nothing seemed to go my way today.</p><p>I got sidetracked every which way it could be. This is a great store, they have paper by the pound and they have envelopes in huge batches and large sheets of paper and handmade paper in large sheet. All at great prices.</p><p>I really needed some envelopes because I used what was left of my A2's for the envie swap.</p><p>So I said "Yeah sure it'll be fun and I can get what I need".</p><p><br /></p><p>I'm back. Ouch I should have stayed home. </p><p>Well I did get envies and cards to go with them. And large sheets of paper for water colouring and 8x11 sheets of paper for water coloring. And I found these really nice cards with a building on it. I'll show you its too hard to describe.</p><p>Then on the way out I 'swam' π‘ by the paper rack with Graphics 45 and Stamperia papers and ugh, some of them are so beautiful. </p><p>Darnit couldn't stay away. I was picking through the big sheets and checking the back side to make sure the back was really cool and then...</p><p>I saw that 8 by 8 packs (which is the size I prefer) Oh Dear, SUCKER! they dragged me in kicking and π± screamin', and by the time I picked out those and put the 12 by 12 back (except for a few that they didn't have in the eight by eight) I was done in, over the top, blew my budget. </p><p>Now I'm home and I'm happy with what I bought and also I found a couple of odd ball items to go with my paper and envies.</p><p>I'm happy but I'm poorer but I guess that's how it goes in our business, right, artists are always poor.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC900tLBm725s6tS10B6CI1SUIFoGyBlnuitBaxkVWGnuYOj4IE36th6GDks1FQOT6zkh_yvP0UJsXV35E-4FaWwmZ0zjFGxz8wnWQ3Ajc_PKO44jiaX9yXB5jTEyzhwLeNn9KR7BW2g/s2048/163192700341234253787984099104.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC900tLBm725s6tS10B6CI1SUIFoGyBlnuitBaxkVWGnuYOj4IE36th6GDks1FQOT6zkh_yvP0UJsXV35E-4FaWwmZ0zjFGxz8wnWQ3Ajc_PKO44jiaX9yXB5jTEyzhwLeNn9KR7BW2g/w240-h320/163192700341234253787984099104.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p>Isn't this beautiful?</p><p>Watch for future projects that I use these cards.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div></div><p>Til tomorrow.</p><p>CIAO,</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>PUFF</b> ππ</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="220" data-original-width="326" height="135" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/w200-h135/image.png" width="200" /></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcNeplr5yWULroeNbJQstTzPuIURPufNoi333Vaw_S-uGHGvUhaLZbGqQRKPnfsfhabhzfgzYLMLLvQf_fWnF5glTG7L66vgtMO3cuc2GkANH8RQvWJi6VlTUPbBuNQGxiCcG58rzfXw/s1600/20181129_135008.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcNeplr5yWULroeNbJQstTzPuIURPufNoi333Vaw_S-uGHGvUhaLZbGqQRKPnfsfhabhzfgzYLMLLvQf_fWnF5glTG7L66vgtMO3cuc2GkANH8RQvWJi6VlTUPbBuNQGxiCcG58rzfXw/s1600/20181129_135008.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcNeplr5yWULroeNbJQstTzPuIURPufNoi333Vaw_S-uGHGvUhaLZbGqQRKPnfsfhabhzfgzYLMLLvQf_fWnF5glTG7L66vgtMO3cuc2GkANH8RQvWJi6VlTUPbBuNQGxiCcG58rzfXw/s1600/20181129_135008.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #0066cc; text-align: center;"> </span><span style="color: black; text-align: center;"> </span><span style="color: #0066cc; text-align: center;"> </span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"></div>PUFFhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14542237591493658477noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-84200951492136.post-10586479511483514612021-09-16T23:18:00.000-04:002021-09-16T23:18:10.922-04:00Day 16 with Effy<p>I have to acknowledge that it is Donna Downey's Birthday π week.ππ</p><p>She has something new going on everyday. Like a mannequin hand or a hand used for a jewelry display.</p><p>My friend Wendy saw one on Pinterest or Etsy or some such place and decided she wanted to do this as a swap. </p><p>So she gathered a handful of us together and drew names and off we went.</p><p>There were no rules. The hand could be black, white, gold, whatever you could find. Left or right, long armed or short.</p><p>I decided I was going to paint flowers and then add some flower charms. But I was at the store and I saw some transparent butterflies so I thought I'd add the butterfly somehow on one of the fingers. </p><p>Then I came across these tiny tiny little lights and they were so awesome I decided I was going to put these underneath the charms so that it would make the charms reflect the light and it would look like the hand lit up all over.</p><p>It sounded good. now all I had to do was implement it.</p><p>I had everything gathered up and I tried to figure out how the lights would work. Well it had a little plastic piece that held the batteries, the battery pack. Where you turned it on and off. This was cool because you can replace them so the string of lights would work for a long time.</p><p>Road block 1, the battery pack didn't have a place to hide. So my husband, DOC, kindly and wonderfully cut out a little piece so that it would fit up underneath the hand but with the switch out to the front so you could turn it on and off, this works beautifully. And the battery pack was taped to the bottom so when the batteries died they could easily be replace.</p><p>Okay next I decided that I really didn't want to paint flowers on because my hand is not all that steady when I need it to be. Road block 2, I decided to scrounge through all my stuff and find all the 3-dimensional flowers that I could find. Believe me I have plenty. I have brads and I have eyelets and I have charms. Between the three of those I think I could come up with a good amount.</p><p>I also decided on the thumb I was going to put the butterfly. I had a really cool piece of brass that I was going to use for something else but when I bent it and put two little antenna on it it looked really nice. A lot better than the mylar one I had intended of using. </p><p>I think I had gathered up everything else I needed so I sat down and I decide to wind the lights around the way I want them to go and I want one to end up underneath the butterfly so I put them down and I just bent them enough to see where the flowers should go. I had a good idea but I made a few slight markings and then I took the lights off and start gluing down my flowers and I keep going and going and going because I just feel like I want more flowers here and more flowers there. </p><p>So now I wound the lights around to where I think I wanted them to go and I tacked them down underneath the flowers, especially those that are transparent. They light up and WOW. I think it looks lovely. I sprayed it with some lacquer and it's done.</p><p>Here we go I'll show you the final project.</p><p>Let me know what you think?!?</p><p>Tomorrow after I've gotten permission from the others in the group, I'll post their pictures also. They were all amazing. It definitely was one of the best swaps I've ever been in.</p><p>I just realized π² as I proofed this that I put some sentences in the present and some in the past. π€ Oh well it's late and I don't feel like fixing my grammar. I hope none of you are English majors π¨βππ©βπ or teachers or professors π©π½βπ«π¨πΌβπ«. Anyone will tell you I am not a morning person.</p><p>Well I woke at 9:20 a.m. and went out to the great room, grabbed my phone and my " I've fallen and I can't get up" monitor, sat down and started reading stuff on my phone. </p><p>Two hours later I came out from the phone and set about doing things. I'd start one thing and then got pulled into something artsy, so off I go to do a project, then I was hungry so I head to the fridge to get something to eat.</p><p>On my way to the fridge I see a note that I need to go down stairs and recharge the water softener. SO down the steps I go, and of course down there's the Fish Bowl so I get distracted by the Fish Bowl.</p><p>Because I am trying to organize the Fish Bowl a little bit at a time I see as few things I could do right now. </p><p>Then my phone rings, of course my phone is upstairs. If it's important they will leave a message so then I do a little bit more organizing and head upstairs. </p><p>When I get all the way upstairs I realized I never did push the button for recharging the water softener, down the stairs I go again and go right over to the water softener and hit the recharge button. Yeah done. I was supposed to do it on the 10th, Oops. </p><p>Then the phone rings again and I am downstairs and the phone is upstairs, what a dope I forgot it again. Somebody could really be trying to get a hold of me it may not be the same person that called before, but I should check. Upstairs I go, I listen to the message and it's important so they want me to call them back. That leads to a string of calls..</p><p>Going up and down the stairs is really hard for me. If you didn't know it I am an amputee and prosthetics don't bend and work as easily as the amputated part. Someday I'll share my story. But it is my lower right leg.</p><p>I realize that I'm really hungry I check the time 4:55p.m. OH NO it's time for Daily HeART with Kae Pea. So online I go for that.</p><p>After Kae Pea, I realized I haven't done my blog today, shoot I better get it done. So here I am talking to you.</p><p>Where did the time go and now I know why I'm up so late every night trying to finish the few little things on my list that day. This happens everyday and each days list grows longer and longer because I didn't get anything done the day before. </p><p><br /></p><p>With all this babble and resignation I realize i get distracted easily.</p><p>With that I leave you with this.</p><p> </p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">"You might have to look hard,</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">but it's definitely there.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">Stay strong and hopeful.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">Everything will be OK in the end</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;">If it's not OK, it's not the end!"</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial;"> <i> <span>Anonymous</span></i></span></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Til tomorrow.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">CIAO,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>PUFF</b> ππ</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="220" data-original-width="326" height="135" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/w200-h135/image.png" width="200" /></a></div></div>PUFFhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14542237591493658477noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-84200951492136.post-19529372664843099502021-09-13T16:59:00.002-04:002021-09-13T16:59:51.266-04:00DAy 13 with Effy<p>I am in an envelope swap and I'm very excited about this because I am all about restarting mail art.</p><p> I used to do a lot of mail art. Actually I still do, none of my envelopes are ever naked even my bills.</p><p>I take mine to the post office and the ladies stop and want to look at them and now they've told me don't seal them up cuz they want to see what's inside. I find that to be really funny, but what the heck, I'm not sure how the people on the other end of the bills that I mail feel about it but I haven't heard anything back.</p><p>We have 23 people in this swaps, We're all making 23 envelopes but we're leaving a space so we can use them. A space in the center where you can put the address and then another space up in the corner where you can put the return address. where you can put a return address. </p><p>The other day my friend Wendy sent me a little package and inside she had an envelope that she had decorated, she didn't leave any of it blank. If I wanted to mail it I'd have to put a sticker over the middle for the address and a sticker in the corner where you could write the return address. I thought I scored some pretty great stuff.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Here's a few pictures when we first got there.</div><p>I took my wheelchair along so when I got tired I'd have a seat. When I got it out of the car my friend and I couldn't open it up. Somehow part of it got bent, oh well so much for that idea. ( I could have used it to carry my bags).</p>The only thing I didn't get that I really wanted was an old typewriter. It worked and the ribbon was good.. I have one but this one was older.<p></p><p>I shouldn't have walked away because it was a good deal. Oh well next time. </p><p>I got glass bottles for my window sills. Items for assemblage. I bought for my friend a dish for her paint brushes, it was $0.25.</p><p>Big spender friend am I. I did buy her another dish for paint brushes and I also bought her lunch.</p><p>I got a really old Lionel train catalogue and two small old books. The books both need their bindings repaired and then I will either alter them or use them for small junk journals for flotsam and jetsam items. ( I call my stuff that because it sticks to the sea theme, I am a PUFFer Fish you know).</p><p>Bye the way if you haven't caught on The Fish Bowl is my studio. It is our walkout basement. It has lots and lots of window like a fish bowl. I have what will soon be a full kitchen, The Galley. A full bathroom, The Lagoon. One side my main work area, The 61 Reef. The other side is The Fat Tree Reef. And the large area that is where I have most of my stuff, soon to be organized completely π€£π€£ is The Atoll.</p><p>Someday when I have it all organized I'll take a few pix and show it off.</p><p>Well that's all for today except a few shots of some of my loot I got.</p><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjci98oO59J-wRC4XTZ5rYV_KJPM4pEk5EabVJq2l9s2WpZIcrKiG6HBn1DXP7M55xe0Tsc8bhQglY5bwLmn_cXuKgXDDxByCDL9HDPrswpcvg0ex8sUifT_3H97LpsG1PIkoASfM0zIA/s2048/16314992056115845306760867288154.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjci98oO59J-wRC4XTZ5rYV_KJPM4pEk5EabVJq2l9s2WpZIcrKiG6HBn1DXP7M55xe0Tsc8bhQglY5bwLmn_cXuKgXDDxByCDL9HDPrswpcvg0ex8sUifT_3H97LpsG1PIkoASfM0zIA/w150-h200/16314992056115845306760867288154.jpg" width="150" /></a></div></blockquote><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSU42lwwWOBQt5L0W-IC5hSY1WTt4F8DzQkc1SZkznIUmS2gLp-6x_scjHZ62KJSyOFEs-POaelo3vHweUxK5Ue4iwNnKJ_yd9bI8aSO0nisfs3lMWg7GTXRnO_C_7dI6r14k8gTM-ew/s2048/16315007447895978054937005081270.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSU42lwwWOBQt5L0W-IC5hSY1WTt4F8DzQkc1SZkznIUmS2gLp-6x_scjHZ62KJSyOFEs-POaelo3vHweUxK5Ue4iwNnKJ_yd9bI8aSO0nisfs3lMWg7GTXRnO_C_7dI6r14k8gTM-ew/w150-h200/16315007447895978054937005081270.jpg" width="150" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>This wasn't even all of it.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><p><br /></p><p>Til tomorrow.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">CIAO,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">PUFF ππ</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="220" data-original-width="326" height="135" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXG4S2jdKM6HNwC_2DNTPSB9tOVchBKrF7_PvZ52wSkjnUP-qlwL0Miz1fOWmeXebm36PhiYNxoULIlcUz64XeVwfaAMvBGDZOmxWxMoiBPHmkRPeWvEchiWIXnooI3PJRfnnXXKAPGw/w200-h135/image.png" width="200" /></a></div></div></div></div>PUFFhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14542237591493658477noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-84200951492136.post-86470281722341688232021-09-11T21:26:00.000-04:002021-09-11T21:26:37.253-04:00Day 11 with Effy<p>I know I missed a few days.
